In the summer of 1998 Kenneth Lowrey & I drove to Alaska in my 1995 Ford Explorer. On the way up, we stopped in the Canadian Rockies, one of our favorite spots. We camped, backpacked, hiked, canoed, and kayaked our way around the Yukon, British Columbia, Northwest Territories, and Alaska. On our way home we took the Alaska and BC ferries along the Inside Passage. We also spent a few days in Yellowstone National Park. We camped in my Explorer for the three-and-a-half month trip, except for the nights on the trail and 8 days in motels and B&Bs. For the real lowdown, see the travelogues.
